I began with the RLAC in December 2007. I have 20+ years of experience and education in business management and marketing. After moving to Lake Mills in 1995, I "retired" from my work-for-pay positions and focused on raising our 4 children. While busy with my children, I also had the opportunity to be involved in our schools and church. I worked on the charter education process for the LMASD. I taught Sunday School, was on the middle school PTO board, I worked with high school volunteers, and coached the high school dance team.
With my youngest a senior in high school, I now have time to work at something else. As an employer, The Rock Lake Activity Center offered everything I love to do and certainly challenges me! It is a gift to our community and one I hope to continue to enhance and see grow.
For fun, I am learning to horse-back-ride, I love to downhill ski, and play with my granddaughter Baiya.

I began at the RLAC when we opened in January of 2007. I graduated from UW Oshkosh with an Exercise Science degree in 2004. After college I started taking on clients as a Personal Trainer, which I did until the activity center opened.
I love what the activity center stands for and am proud to work in a place that promotes healthy living and aging. The activity center has grown so much already in the short time that we've been open. I'm excited about what the future holds as the center continues to tap into all its potential.
When I'm not working at the activity center I'm usually at home working even harder to keep up with my three boys - Beau (age 3), Sean (age 2), and Max (age 1).
I have been with RLAC off and on since the opening in 2007. I love planning and coordinating events and it is especially rewarding doing this for a great nonprofit organization such as The Rock Lake Activity Center.
I love working for RLAC, as it is exactly what Lake Mills has needed for many years. Where else can you get great, low cost programs for people of all ages without driving to Milwaukee or Madison.
For fun, I enjoy time with my teenage son, Joshua and my husband Joe. We enjoy just about any outdoor activity or sport. I also have been keeping myself busy while working on my BA degree in health & wellness education.
If you have ideas, suggestions for events at RLAC –please send me an email, I would love to hear from you.

I am new to the team here at the activity center as of February 2010 and love it here. I love that we have a place in town that offers all types of programs for all different ages, and the atmosphere here is great!
When I'm not working I'm attending school. Currently I am finishing my General Education courses at Madison Area Technical College and plan to pursue a degree in Communications and Spanish. I love life and traveling (so far just the U.S., but would love to go to Europe)! I also enjoy running and being active, and am presently training for my first triathalon later this summer. So now you know a little bit more about me and I can't wait to meet you!

Hi! My name is Jenna. I am a junior at Lake Mills High School. I am on the varsity tennis and dance teams. My plan after high school is to go to UW Whitewater to be a kindergarden teacher. Most of my family went to Whitewater to be teachers as well. I guess you could say I'm following in their footsteps!
Carmen Brander
Front Desk Staff
Hello! I'm Carmen Brander and I am a senior at Lake Mills High School. I really have no idea what I would like to do after high school; I change my mind almost eveyday. But I am excited about graduating. Horseback riding is a passion of mine. I also enjoy soccer, snowboarding, hanging with friends and believe it or not crocheting! I'm a new employee to the Activity Center and look forward to meeting you!

Hi, my name is Lewis Wethall. I am a junior at Lake Mills High School. I've been working at the activity center for almost a year now and I'm really enjoying it. I'm in two school sports and those are football and track. Outside of school I ski, BMX mountain bike race, and play tennis and hockey. I get involved with a lot of sports. I'm also very musical. I play the piano, drums, and harmonica. I even teach drum lessons here at the activity center.
Liz Vadeboncouer
Body Sculpting and Cycling Instructor
Hi, my name is Liz Vadeboncoeur and I’m a fitness junkie. I love to work out with others in a fun setting. I’ll do whatever I can to keep fitness opportunities here in Lake Mills for everyone in our community to benefit from. My hobbies include cycling (both road and mountain), skiing (both downhill and cross country), swimming, and running. My goal is to remain as fit as possible so that I can enjoy all these sports with my 2 active teenage daughters and my husband Joe. They are always challenging me! With all our hobbies, finding time to workout with weights can be a challenge. Teaching body sculpting is a great way to get together with fun people and do something great for our bodies. Hope to see you in class sometime.
Jo Christianson
A Step Up Instructor
I am currently a Special Education Teacher in Jefferson for pre-schoolers with special education needs. I recently achieved my greatest success when I passed my National Board Certification in Teaching.
I have worked out on a regular basis my entire life being highly committed to maintaining a healthy life style. I am a retired runner. I had run for 18 years competing in local runs ranging from 5Ks to Syttende Mai which is 20 miles long. I have placed 3rd in my age group at the Badger State games and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in many local runs. I have been an aerobic instructor since 1990, teaching in the surrounding area at local health clubs and am certified with NETA.
Kathy Mock
Cycling and Functional Fitness Instructor
I graduated from UW LaCrosse with a Physical Education/Community Health degree. I am certified through ACE as a Personal Trainer and also hold a Cyclopse Power Cycling Certification. I'm old enough to have been part of the 1980's aerobics boom. I even worked at an aerobic studio in Minneapolis for about 5 years where all we taught was aerobic classes: 50 instructors/12 classes per day. I moved on to Harbor Athletic Club where I ran the aerobics program and consulted for Sun Prairie Athletic Club. I've competed in Marathons, triathlons and all sorts of cycling events and love to inspire people to figure out what it takes for them to be active and healthy. My tip for you: TRY SOMETHING NEW WHENEVER YOU GET A CHANCE!!!!
Jenny Hendricks
Boot Camp and Body Sculpting Instructor
I have always loved health and fitness. In high school I participated in cross-country and track and earned a spot in the state meet junior year as an individual runner for Lake Mills. Running is my favorite activity as well as walking with my golden retriever. I am a triplet sister. Recently I graduated from MATC with a degree in Recreation Management/Activity Fitness Leader. I enjoy sunshine and warm weather. Arizona is my favorite place to visit. My goal is to help others achieve lifelong fitness and happiness and to make exercise fun, innovative, and interesting.
Jackie Beaversdorf
Youth Yoga Instructor
I am a certified Yoga Instructor with experience teaching Youth Yoga and Youth Pilates. I have competed in the Milwaukee Marathon Finisher and the Rookie Triathlete. I enjoy reading, sewing, and outdoor activity with my family. I became an instructor because someone asked me. When opportunity knocks at your door you take it.
My health tip for you is: don’t be afraid to surprise yourself – try new activities. You may find a hidden talent you didn’t once think possible. Food for though: A library can get you through times with no money better than money can get you through times with no library.
